On a sunny June day, I made my way to Boisbriand for an event to commemorate the Mustang's 50th anniversary, an event organized by MONTREAL MUSTANG.
I was also going to see my friend's recent acquisition of a 1967 Mustang coupe, a purchase he made less than 48 hours ago, as well as old friends who own Mustangs.
THE VINTAGE MUSTANG
A nice variety of classic Mustangs awaited my arrival, including two vehicles from friends like Daniel Duc's '73 Mach1, and Jacques Gaudet's "Britany Blue" 1967 Coupe.
Also present were a dark red Elanor, a rare 428 GT coupe, a BOSS 429 clone and a dark blue 1967 Shelby GT 500 clone with white LeMans stripes.
The owner of a black 1965 GT won a tabletop thermometer clock, which looked a 1965 Mustang dashboard.
As for my friend, the owner of a Candy Apple Red 1967 coupe, he had an introduction into the basic principles of driving a classic car, and asked what wheels could he put on his car to get the original look, as well as which steering wheel to replace the current model.
A number or modern Shelbys showed up to be admired! When parked side by side, one could sometimes tell the difference between the years, like these two "Grabber Blue" GT500's.
Some wore cool racing seats, a big change from the first Mustangs that stopped at the shoulder blades.
ORIGINAL OR MODIFIED
An array of Mustangs from 1982-2014 were proudly displayed, as shown in the photos below, like this yellow convertible clone of a BOSS SHINODA.
Some of these fast Mustangs had some personalized touches, like wheels, stripes and body kits.
Let's start with this 2003-2004 generation of SVT Cobra, whose wheels have a printed pattern, a modification that is not often seen. Only one word can describe the sound of this rocket, and that word is INTENSE!
A Roush Mustang appearance package; the look of a Roush without the hardware. This car still has some attitude, made in part by the colour, the quarter panel decal, and the spoiler gives it a personality all its own.
Finally, a brave 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible stood away from the other intruders who came to visit this meet. This beautiful car had the top down in order for everyone to admire the interior.
To cap it off, here are a few I'd qualify as intruders. A nice custom Chevy pickup from the early 70's, a 60's Chrysler 300, and a black modern Challenger, a Red Line Edition to be precise!
